𝐍𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐬 is a common infection of the nail. It can begin as a white or yellow-brown spot under the tip of your fingernail or toenail. As the fungal infection goes deeper, the nail may discolour, thicken and crumble at the edge or detach from the nail bed. Nail fungus can affect several nails if left untreated and can sometimes spread to the surrounding skin on the foot, causing another condition known as athlete’s foot. Athlete’s foot is a condition resulting in itchy, red, and cracked skin, which can become very uncomfortable.
𝐓𝐢𝐩: Don’t go barefoot in public places. Use a spray or powder that fights fungus on your feet and in your shoes. Don’t pick at the skin around your nails.
