Your feet possess three unique arches to help bear your body weight, and even the bones in your toes have an arch-shaped design to help manage the stress and strain of walking and standing. A healthy foot naturally resists excessive pronation, or a rolling inward of the foot and ankle, which helps prevent common lower extremity problems.
Pain/discomfort can develop in your arches and foot when this isn’t happening. Exercises and orthoses may be required to correct any deviation and train your foot back to healthy gait.
