𝑽𝒆𝒓𝒓𝒖𝒄𝒂𝒆 is the Latin name for a wart. The infecting agent is the Human Papilloma Virus, of which there are several known varieties, causing slightly different types of verrucae’s. Verruca are most commonly found on the feet of children and adolescents but that doesn’t mean adults won’t get them too. Callus can often cover a verrucae which is why it can often be mistaken for a corn.
There are many different treatment options for verrucae. Just to name a few;
– high concentration of 𝒔𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒚𝒍𝒊𝒄 𝒂𝒄𝒊𝒅
– 𝒔𝒘𝒊𝒇𝒕 𝒎𝒊𝒄𝒓𝒐𝒘𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒑𝒚
– 𝒄𝒓𝒚𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒑𝒚
A chiropodist or podiatrist can recommend which treatment option would work best for you upon assessing your verrucae’s. Sometimes, verrucae can disappear all on their own, but they can be painful while lingering on the pressure points of your feet.
